At Maine Bunk Beds, we believe that a well-designed bunk bed isn’t just about saving space—it’s about creating it. Space for connection. Space for stories. Space to grow, rest, and remember the joy of sharing a room.
Whether you're outfitting a camp on the coast or a cozy kid’s bedroom, getting the dimensions right makes all the difference. And because each of our pieces is made to order in our Buxton, Maine woodshop, you’re never boxed into a standard.

Vertical Space: Comfort Meets Craftsmanship
Most of our standard bunks stand around 65"–70" tall. Custom heights are always available, especially for lower ceilings or taller users. We’ll help you strike the right balance between headroom and aesthetic.
Pro tip: Plan for at least 30–36 inches of clearance above the top bunk. It keeps things safe and cozy—just how it should be.
Room to Breathe: Planning Your Layout
Beyond the bunk itself, you’ll want to factor in:
-
Ladders or stairs: Customizable to fit your space—side or end mounted.
-
Built-ins: Optional drawers, shelves, or trundles that add storage without clutter.
-
Walkways: Leave about 24–30 inches around the bed for easy movement.
If your space is tight, don’t worry—we’re experts at making every inch count.
One-of-a-Kind Fit
No two rooms are the same. That’s why we design each bunk bed to suit your space, your style, and your story. Whether you need a shorter height, a deeper bottom bunk, or something no one's built before, we're ready to make it happen.
At the end of the day, you’re not just getting a bunk bed—you’re getting a piece of Maine craftsmanship built to hold life’s best moments.
