Founded in 2009 by Scott Taylor, Maine Bunk Beds has since established a brand of safe, high quality and long lasting beds. Our short but significant history is based on the art of fine woodworking and sustainable business practices to deliver the best to our customers.
The founder of Maine Bunk Beds, Scott Taylor, was acutely concerned with the importance of protecting children from unnecessary exposure to toxic chemicals. After his young son was diagnosed with multiple medical issues including autism, Scott became passionate about creating a toxic-free living environment for his family. He decided to expand his established carpentry business and in 2009 launched Maine Bunk Beds. Scott's goal was to make quality bunk beds for kids that were both safe and free of toxins.
Over the past decade, Maine Bunk Beds has grown to be one of America's leading designers and builders of eco-friendly bunk beds. Majority control of the company changed hands in April, 2017. The new owners share a passion for eco-sensitive business practices that are melded together with the art of fine woodworking.
Today, our shop is located along the banks of the Saco River in Buxton, Maine.
