Maine Bunk Beds Awarded Best of Houzz 2014

Maine Bunk Beds is happy to announce that we have been presented with a Best of Houzz 2014 - Client Satisfaction award. The award is presented yearly for businesses that were rated at the highest level for client satisfaction by the Houzz community. If you aren’t on Houzz already, we highly suggest creating a profile, or at the least just browsing the beautiful products and amazing craftsmen featured on the site. We plan on continuing to connect with our customers there with more photos, information, and collaborations with our hand crafted bunk beds. From the team at Maine Bunk Beds, we thank you our customers.

Maine Bunk Beds featured on DIY Network

Customer favorite, the Winslow bunk bed with stairs, was recently featured on the DIY Networks show I Want That.

Episode 408 features a profile of a family with two daughters who are looking to simplify their kids room, but want to ensure their kids are safe by finding a non-toxic eco-friendly option. The girls are surprised with a brand new Maine Bunk Bed with stairs, builtin ladder, and storage drawers, painted in painted in a custom requested non-toxic turquoise clay paint.

We were honored to be part of the show and have our product featured in out in natural habitat: With a family looking for non-toxic american made furniture that doesn’t sacrifice on style.

Our Bunk Bed with Stairs featured on New York City Parent’s blog

Maine Bunk Beds Featured in NYMetroParents Blog

Summer camp season is in full swing and in a recent blog post, NYMetroParents featured Maine Bunk Beds’ very own Winslow bunk bed. The post, called “Stuff We Like Kinda Campy” included the editor’s favorite items that reminded them of the carefree days of summer camp. One of the things they pointed out that they love the most is that this is furniture you’re supposed to climb. We couldn’t agree more! Summer camp can last year-round with our eco-friendly and safe bunk bed that is perfect for the kiddo (or parent) that prefers the comfort of stairs over a ladder. One of the most important things to think of when designing space for a summer camp is functionality. The Winslow features drawers inside each step, which provides plenty of extra storage, and you can choose from an array of accessories and finishes. We are excited to be featured in such a prominent blog that parents rely on and trust. We agree that the Winslow is the perfect choice for summer camps – but then again maybe we are a bit biased. Please pass the bug spray and enjoy these last few weeks of summer with an afternoon nap on a Maine Bunk Bed!

Bunk Beds for Summer Home

Maine Bunk Beds Offer Space Saving Design, Safety and Durability for Vacation Houses

Summer has arrived. Finally. Time to start thinking about vacations, trips to the beach and fun in the sun with family and friends. If you own a beach house or vacation house – it’s also time to think about decorating and furnishing your second home. Summer vacation houses should be fun and easy to maintain- and when you’re trying to cram family, extended family, friends and whoever else shows up – hopefully not What About Bob - into a small space, you need to be smart about sleeping arrangements. We know that sleeping all your family comfortably at your lake house is paramount, which is where the Katahdin, our triple bunk bed comes in. Not only are they super fun – think childhood memories of late-night giggle sessions and “forts” – but they are also space-friendly. Bunk beds aren’t just for kids either – when you’re trying to save space and find a place for the adults to sleep, check out our Raymond Cape, a full over full bunk bed. We’ve taken care of all the work for you. MaineBunkBeds.com has recently re-launched with a brand look and a re-designed product line. Modern Custom Bunk Beds

Recently a feature on a Star Wars themed custom bunk bed has been creating quite a buzz on the internet. A little creativity, a handy dad, a love for Sci-Fi and voilà! —You have one happy kid, with one of the most unique bunk beds around.

For the rest of you out there looking for a custom bunk bed but perhaps with a little less Luke Skywalker, our standard Twin over Twin bunk bed has a ton of customization options for your little ewoks. Bettering the Best Bunk Bed

We at Maine Bunk Beds are firm believers in the practice of continuous improvement: Concept, Design, Prototype, Build, Review, Improve. Rinse. Repeat. This process of constantly evolving applies to all aspects of our business, not just to making beds (although, obviously, that is paramount).

Over the last few months, we’ve been hard at work rolling out several new improvements that we are excited to share with our customers:

The Ability to Purchase Your Bed Online

You asked and we listened. After several years and countless requests from our customers, interior designers, and partners, you can now configure, customize, and purchase your Maine Bunk Bed directly online. Simply browse any of our eco-friendly bunk beds, select a bed (for example: our Twin Over Twin with Stairs), and at the bottom you will see the option to customize and purchase your finished or unfinished bed.

A Sturdier Bed

We’ve redesigned our beds with 3.5” corner posts using only hardwoods. This means a rock-solid, sturdy base for all of our beds, no rocking or creaking—or worrying if the oft-used chipboard is going to be safe enough for your kids. We believe we have designed the sturdiest bunk bed available.

Integrated Ladder Design

We are always concerned about safety with our beds, and one of the areas we knew we could improve upon were our ladders. All of our ladders in our beds are now integrated into the bed design—no free standing/leaning ladders. This means a safer bunk bed experience for anyone entering or exiting a top bunk.

No-VOC Paint

We have updated our finishing processes, ensuring we get the highest-quality finish possible using only No-VOC paint on our bunk beds. We finish all of our beds using all-natural milk paint—all organic with no VOC/outgassing. We apply two coats, hand sand between each coat, and apply a clear finish of Vermont Natural Coatings—an organic clear coat made from whey protein (a byproduct from Vermont cheese makers).

Shipping

For customers outside of the New England area, we now offer White Glove delivery service, which includes blanket wrapping, delivery, and set-up/assembly in your home. Now, whether you live in the Bay Area, New York City, or Boston, you can order our bunk beds with ease and know the delivery and assembly will be handled with care. No more fumbling around with an allen or hex wrench; let us take the headache out of assembly.

New Bunk Bed Designs

We have added several new bunk bed models to our lineup, including a triple bunk bed - The Katahdin and a Twin Loft Over Dresser - The Rockport. We have also updated our most popular bed, The Winslow - Twin Over Twin Bunk Bed with Stairs, with a much improved stair and drawer assembly.

Tablet & Mobile Friendly

Finally, we have completely redesigned our website. Our new website is responsive and will provide a great experience no matter how you access our site. We focused on making it as easy as possible for customers to reach us via the site. Feel free to contact us via our webform, call us at (207) 331-3500 or our new toll-free number (877) 686-4351, or connect with us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/MaineBunkBeds.

We look forward to building your bunk bed.
